Our garden is officially on the books at
VEAP with the first pound of kale donated last week. Although it doesn’t
seem like much, a pound of kale practically filled the plastic grocery
bag. With the late start and wet, cool temperatures, we haven’t had too
much to harvest except the kale. Our plants, however, are healthy and
full of blooms so we look forward to a bounty of harvest in the fall.
Thanks to Cal and Sandy Jenson for doing God’s work with their hands by
updating the lattice screens and wood chips to freshen up the space. Feel
free to stop by and enjoy the solitude while taking in the beauty of God’s
creation.
CALLING ALL LEFSE LOVERS! This year’s harvest will also
include our first potato crop and we are hoping to be able to use some of them
to make lefse in October. LEFSE MAKING AT HOUSE OF PRAYER is always a
great way to bring friends and family together and have fun while supporting
the Fall Festival Bake Sale. We will be putting out a request for
griddles & such at a later date so dust off your rolling pins and mark your
calendars for October 17th & 18th in Fellowship Hall
Kitchen.
